Here is my entry:

NOT THE COSTUME I WANTED (WC 91)

By Michelle S. Kennedy

Goodies and goosebumps— it’s Halloween night.

My costume will give you a scare!

I might be a witch or a zombified man.

Or the evil IT Clown with red hair.

How ‘bout a ghost who can glow-in-the-dark?

Or something where blood trickles down—

A guy with an axe that is stuck in his head

and stitches that make up a frown.

In walks my mom with a mask in her hand.

My scheme has been suddenly banned!

“You’ll look very cute being a Groot!”

But CUTE isn’t what I had planned…
